RAGES & MORE PROGRESSION

How quickly things can change. And to what degree. The past few days Craig has been raging again - just like he used to before the Seroquel. He's yelling and I mean YELLING and hitting walls with his fists, screaming (primal) and crying. It kills me to watch my adorable, sweet, gentle, once confident husband turn into a "crazy raging bull".  No other way to describe what I have to witness. He talks gibberish, going from one subject to the next mid-sentance & several times in one sentence, starts crying, hitting the air, hitting his fist in his hand and so, SO much more.


Apparently the Seroquel is now ineffective. The next step is to try a stronger psychotropic drug. If this drug doesn't work the next step is a stay in a GeroPsych ward for observation and to find what will work to keep him calm. I hate the thought of that. It will be very upsetting to Craig and when Craig gets upset his Alzheimer's progresses...


It's a nightmare for the both of us.
