I truly wish they would do away with Daylight Savings Time. Hawaii and most of Arizona do just fine without observing it.
Now that I have a husband with Alzheimer's it presents far more problems than it did with my pets insisting they need to be fed at their usual time. Their body clocks, just like human body clocks know what time it is and what they are supposed to be doing.
Now throw Alzheimer's into the mix. Body clock, time adjustment, Alzheimer's...does not equal a good outcome. Craig hasn't quite progressed into experiencing Sundowner's yet, but this Fall's time change I believe, is pushing his brain around. Ever since we "Fell Back" this month, he's confused now as to what time it is to go to bed and what time it is to get up. Sometimes he comes to me and announces he's going to bed now. It's six o'clock. He's still usually reasonable and understands. However, no matter what time he goes to bed after the recent time change, he wakes up and gets up anywhere from 2:00am to 3:00am. I cannot convince him to go back to bed.
Currently he does not wander, but I'm guessing Daylight Savings Time does not bode well for the future.
