BBQ

The place Craig is living hosted a BBQ on Saturday. The weather was beautiful.

Unfortunately we haven't quite found the right combination / dosages of drugs for Craig's latest progression, or it hasn't taken affect yet. I didn't want to risk sending him into a rage by sitting outside in the beautiful new courtyard (which is where I really wanted to sit) so we sat in the dining room. He was calm for a little while but in the middle of lunch he became agitated and we had to move back to his room. Damned Alzheimer's really knows how to ruin EVERYTHING.
It was very disappointing for me as I really wanted to visit with other residents family members. Once Craig settled down after lunch and took a little nap I was able to go out and visit even though most had left by then.

I love that man, but I HATE those rages. It is a nightmare to want to spend time with him, just to sit next to him and be close, but no. He's back to SCREAMING and yelling and hitting and there is no way to enjoy a moment when he is in this mode. It's horrible to have to watch this once happy-go-lucky, sweet and gentle man who would've loved this party, turn into a raging crazy person. I know that does not sound very nice, but it is the reality and it kills me to watch him suffer. I hope and pray hard that the medications work soon for him.

And again, thank you Jean Linhardt for coming through for us once again!
God has really blessed us with you and your reward in Heaven is going to be HUGE. HUGE!!
