The other night he was loud all night. Not yelling, just awake and loud. I sleep across the hall from him and it was the first night since he's been home that I have been kept awake by him. He's so cute. I would get up and check on him (he's completely safe in bed - I keep a big, cushy mat on the floor next to his bed, his bed is low and we have a pillow under his side to prevent him from rolling off the bed) and of course he was fine, just talking to whoever he was "seeing". Sometimes I would call out, "Craig, I love you!" to which he would respond, "love you too". Or I would call out from my room, "Craig, go to sleep" and he would say "okay". He makes me smile. But I was dead tired the next day.

| Relaxing after breakfast, enjoying the frozen fairway view |
Today is a pretty good day. He is so happy sitting in his new chair staring out at the frozen fairway, listening to his favorite channel on Pandora, the Jimmy Buffet channel. It seems to calm him whenever he's having a bad day. (Most times, not all the time :) It seems to me he's having more good days than bad here at home.
Another interesting discovery since Craig has been home; before he moved out of the house, the downstairs was for sports watching. (I tired of him watching nothing but sports on TV so I made a rule, no sports upstairs - LOL) We bought a big TV and had it mounted over the fireplace just for him and the boys and friends to watch sports on. While Craig was living outside the home and declined further, we assumed his vision had become so scrambled we didn't think he could track television. We had to point his sofa away from his TV in his room because he would sometimes fall from his sofa and I didn't want him to hit his head. The TV at the other place for residents was very small and Craig never showed much interest unless he was sitting directly in front of it. However, here at home with his big TV Craig has no problem looking up and watching the big screen. Since Craig can no longer walk and is sometimes agitated it really limits his activities so this is a great discovery to help him stay in touch. We watch the news and of course sports when he is calm and connecting. I love that he is still connecting and now with 1:1 care he's thriving - as much as he can anyway. :)
It just might be time to crack open the champagne.
